Unapologetic Anarchist Bloc in Montreal

anarchistnews.org July 15, 2010 July 17th, 1:00pm in Carré Phillips There will be an Anarchist Bloc within the CLAC 2010 protest in solidarity with the arrestees of the G20 in Toronto. Wear a mask, bring a flag, come with a crew. Dark clothing is welcome but not required. Flyers will be available to hand out to other demonstrators and passers-by, and we encourage you to bring your own as well. As anarchists and anti-authoritarians, we see that it is necessary to publicly confront the misinformation that has been spread by the media and some prominent individuals on the left regarding anarchism, black blocs, and the struggle we bring to the street. We have been dismissed as thugs and hooligans, which, from the perspective of defenders of capital and exploitation, may not be far from the truth.

This bloc is part of a march to demand the release of political prisoners arrested in Toronto. However, as anarchists we insist on freedom for all prisoners everywhere. We want to destroy all prisons, and we see this as part of a larger project of ending this society of control. We violently reject being enclosed by borders and fences, surveilled by cameras and cops, and subjected to everyday systems of oppression and domination.

In opposing the climate of repression in Toronto and afterward, it is important to remember why we went there in the first place. We were not there as 'concerned citizens' or 'defenders of civil liberties.' We intended to attack the state and capital, to humiliate the G20 security apparatus, and to be uncontrollable. This necessarily brought us into conflict with the forces of law and order. Though the scale of the repression was greater than most of us are accustomed to, it was completely in keeping with the enraging methods of control that police and other state lackeys use every day. Toronto was only one moment in a much longer struggle, and we intend on winning.

Join us to show that even as they repress and imprison us, we will only become more numerous and determined to undermine their control over our lives. Toronto didn't slow us down at all, it has only made us stronger!

Il y aura un Bloc Anarchiste au sein de la manif du CLAC 2010 en solidarité avec les inculpéEs du G20 à Toronto. Portez un masque, apportez un drapeau, venez avec votre gang. L’habit noir est le bienvenu mais bien sûr pas obligatoire. Des tracts seront disponibles afin de les distribuer aux autres manifestantEs et aux passantEs, et nous vous encourageons d’apporter les vôtres aussi.

Étant anarchistes et anti-authoritaires, nous trouvons qu’il est nécessaire de confronter de façon publique la désinformation qui a été répandue par les medias et certains gauchistes médiatiques à l’égard de l’anarchisme, des black blocs, et de la lutte que nous apportons à la rue. Nous avons été denoncéEs comme étant des casseurs et truands, ce qui, du point de vue des défenseurs du capital et de l’exploitation, n’est peut-être pas si loin de la vérité.

Ce bloc fait partie d’une manif réclamant la liberté pour les prisonnierEs politiques arretéEs à Toronto. Cependant, nous, anarchistes, insistons sur la libération de tous les prisonnierEs. Nous voulons détruire toutes les prisons, et considérons ceci comme faisant partie d’un projet plus large d’abattre cette société du contrôle. Nous rejetons violemment l’emprisonnement par les frontières et clôtures, la surveillance par les cameras et les flics, et l’asujetissement quotidien aux systèmes d’oppression et de domination.

En opposant le climat de répression à Toronto et sa suite, il est important de se rappeler pourquoi nous y étions dès le début. Nous n’y étions pas à titre de ‘citoyens inquiets’ ou de ‘défenseurs des libertés publiques’. Nous voulions attaquer l’état et le capital, humilier le dispositif de sécurité du G20, être incontrollables. Ceci nous apporta de facto en conflit avec les forces de l’ordre. Bien que l’échelle de la répression soit plus importante que ce à quoi la plupart d’entre nous sommes habitués, c’est tout à fait normal pour la police et les autres chiens de l’état qui usent de ces méthodes dégoûtantes chaque jour. Toronto n’était qu’un moment dans une bien plus longue lutte, une lutte que nous comptons gagner.

Joignez-vous à nous pour montrer que même s’ils nous répriment et nous emprisonnent, nous deviendrons seulement plus nombreuses et déterminéEs à détruire le contrôle qu’ils éxercent sur nos vies. Toronto ne nous a pas ralenti du tout, ça nous a renduEs plus fortEs!
