benefit for grand jury resisters/green scare awareness Kent, OH

Date: Fri, 27 Nov 2009
From: lmirkovi@kent.edu

The Crooked River Collective in Kent, OH is working on organizing a
fundraiser for Scott DeMuth and Carrie Feldman, two Minnesota
activists recently incarcerated for refusing to testify before a
federal grand jury in Iowa. Scott has since been indicted under the
Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. We're hoping not only to raise some
money for their legal and commissary funds but to also bring attention
to the Green Scare and the repressive tactics of grand juries.

This is a call out to any regional animals rights, prisoner support,
environment groups, etc. who may be interested in tabling, putting on
a workshop/skill-share, or just helping out in general with this
event. It is tentatively set for Saturday, December 19th in Kent. The
basic outline for the time being is a Really Really Free Market in the
morning and early afternoon, a potluck/documentary in the evening, and
music/poetry all night, along with workshops and skill-shares
scattered throughout the day.

We're also in need of musicians, artists, and poets who'd like to get
behind this.

Please spread the word, and email either myself or
crookedrivercollective@gmail.com if you're interested in helping.
