Deadline for letters to the Judge for Daniel McGowan extended!

Hello friends,

The biggest bit of news to share with you is that the deadline for letters to the Judge for Daniel's sentencing hearing has been extended to February 15, 2007. This should give you a few more weeks to write a letter for Daniel and if you have written one, speak to a friend or two about writing one. We have received quite a few thus far and are hoping to get a lot more soon. These letters will form part of a sentencing brief given to Judge Ann Aiken and will factor into her decision. We aim to show her that Daniel is a valued member of the community, not a terrorist, and that no one will be served by a lengthy prison time. Tips for writing a letter, where to send it and more are located at
http://www.supportdaniel.org/morehelp/judge.html

Please feel free to send us any questions or concerns you have. Many have asked whether there letter is needed or valuable even if they do not know Daniel. YES, it is! While we are focusing on letters from people who know Daniel and have worked with him etc, letters from people who found about the case or have an opinion on the case and the issues involved are very valuable. Please do not be discouraged by this and write a letter anyhow. If you have any questions, we will help you with them.

Some other updates:
*It is likely that Daniel's sentencing April 26th hearing will be postponed but we do not know when it will be postponed to. We will let you know as soon as we know.
