I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be speaking at the Multnomah County Central Library this Saturday, June 2, starting at 1pm. I'll be talking about my book American Methods: Torture and the Logic of Domination (South End Press, 2006), and I will specifically address the question, "Can torture be justified?" I plan to briefly outline the major arguments, and then open it up for public discussion.
